HOW THE
TrueScore-Pro
WORKS |
|
The upper head holds a color-coded male
disc. Each colored disc is selected for a particular weight of stock.
The lower head has various female groove widths. When the heads engage,
the upper male disc gently stretches the fibers into the female ring,
providing a deep, perfect score and crack free fold every time. |
 |
|
|
Easy
Set-up & Operation |
-
Choose a female groove
width. Determine lower scoring head location for the job and lock
into position.
-
Choose a male scoring
disc. Position the upper head so that the male scoring disc is
centered over the chosen lower female groove. Lower the upper head
with the pitch control lever. Fasten upper scoring head setscrew.
-
Run a sheet through and
adjust pressure as normal until the desired score depth is reached.
-
To change scoring discs
simply unscrew the upper head nut, remove and replace the scoring
disc. This can be done with the upper head remaining on the shaft
-
The blue disc produces a
narrow score, perfect for paper and other light stock materials.
-
The black disc produces a
medium score.
-
The red disc produces a
wider score for heavier card and cover stocks.
-
Using two standard
TrueScore-Pro heads, the minimum line-line spacing is 1-inch.
-
For perfect bound book
covers, consider the TrueScore-Pro Quad (#220-A-206) for use on
Rosback machines. These versatile heads create a wide range of spine
and hinge covers.

|
HOW THE
TrueScore-Pro Quad
WORKS |
The upper head has a selection of two color-coded male
scoring discs for a large range of stock weight. The lower head has a
selection of two female grooved rings having different groove widths.
When the heads engage, the male scoring disc gently stretches the
material into the female ring groove, providing a deep, perfect crease
and crack free fold every time. The heads can be assembled to have a
male scoring disc with a female groove ring on the same head, if
required. Spacer rings on each head assembly are used to change the
dimension from the spine score to the hinge score. |
 |
|
Easy
Set-up & Operation |
-
Assemble chosen female
rings with spacers as required onto two hubs. Determine both lower
scoring head locations for the job and lock onto lower cutter shaft.
-
Assemble chosen male
scoring discs with spacers as required onto two hubs. Position the
upper heads on the upper cutter shaft so that the male scoring discs
are centered over the female grooves. Fully lower the upper cutter
shaft. Turn hand wheel a couple of times and lock onto upper cutter
shaft.
-
Run a sheet through and
adjust upper cutter shaft as normal until the desired scoring depth
is reached.
-
To change male scoring
discs, remove three screws and slide scoring discs with support
discs along shaft. Twist scoring disc and remove from shaft, replace
scoring discs and re-assemble while the heads are still on the
shaft.
-
The black scoring disc
with the smaller female groove ring (black) produces a smaller
crease, perfect for heavy paper and light cover stock materials.
-
The red scoring disc with
the larger female groove ring (white) produces wider crease for
heavier card and cover stocks.
-
The minimum
spine-to-spine score is 1/4”. The minimum spine-to-hinge score is
1/4” Using supplied spacer rings 3/8” and 1/2” spine-to-hinge score
is obtainable.
